I have learned how important it is to show up, work hard, and treat everyone with kindness, no matter who they are or what kind of day they are having.

My name is TK Wright

I am a senior at Christ School in Asheville, North Carolina. When I think about who I am, I think about the people, places, and experiences that have shaped me.

Baseball has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. I have played my entire life, and this year I am a senior team captain, an outfielder, and a pitcher. Last year, I was an All-Conference player for both my hitting and pitching. Baseball has taught me much more than how to play the game. It has taught me how to work hard, handle failure, lead others, and stay committed even when things do not go my way.

I have also spent the last two summers working at Publix. Working there has given me a different perspective on people and responsibility. I have learned how important it is to show up, work hard, and treat everyone with kindness, no matter who they are or what kind of day they are having.

My faith is another important part of who I am. I am a Young Life leader for middle school students in the area, where we spend time together each week, build relationships, play games, and talk about Jesus Christ and what it means to follow Him. I love getting to know these younger students and helping them feel comfortable asking questions about their faith. At Christ School, I also serve as the Verger, helping with prayers and running chapel services. Being involved in chapel has given me another opportunity to serve my school and help create a meaningful environment for other students.

Academically, I have worked hard to challenge myself. I am a member of the National Honor Society, have received the AP Scholar Award, and have been on the Head of School High Honor Roll for the past two years. I am proud of these accomplishments, but I also value the habits behind them—being disciplined, staying curious, and continuing to push myself.

TK was given the honor of ringing the bell to announce the opening of the Senior Blazer Ceremony at Christ School.

Quick Notes

Outside of school, some of my favorite moments are the simple ones. I love hanging out with my friends, whether we are playing golf, pickleball, or basketball, going on dates, or just spending time together. My family is also a huge part of my life. We enjoy family dinners, watching TV, playing board games with my two sisters, and going on hikes together. We especially love bringing our dog along whenever we can.

I do not want my college résumé to simply be a list of accomplishments. I want it to show the person behind those accomplishments. I am someone who loves competition but also loves people, who takes my faith seriously but enjoys having fun, and who wants to keep growing as a student, teammate, leader, friend, and son.

As I look toward college and what comes next, I am excited to take everything I have learned from my family, my faith, my school, baseball, work, and the people around me and carry it into the next chapter of my life.
